In 2012, FWCS passed a referendum allowing multiple improvements to various schools in the district. FWCS commissioned MKS as the design-builder for the projects at Bloomingdale Elementary and Harris Elementary, which deviated from the traditional approach of design-bid-build. Both projects included a complete overhaul of the mechanical systems. The challenge in doing this was the aggressive schedule, which was to complete all work during the short summer months before school commenced. MKS was able to meet this rigorous schedule to open for school in the fall.
