In the early morning hours of December 31, 2012, a fire devastated Taylor United Methodist Church sanctuary. The majority of the facility was saved, but the sanctuary, while still standing, was completely lost. The new sanctuary is laid out in a fan shape similar to many performance spaces, allowing people to be closer to the altar, and it encourages more involvement in services. The sanctuary also features an elevated baptismal pool, floor-to-ceiling aluminum window system with LED lighting, beautiful woodwork and the wooden cross that was salvaged from the old sanctuary and refurbished.
