Throughout the course of our 128 years in the industry, we’ve been tasked with coming up with creative solutions for our clients’ unique requests. One request we’d yet to encounter (until recently) is to assist a client in crossing off an item on their bucket list.
This past February, one of our partners at Albion College, Dr. Mauri Ditzler, casually mentioned it had been a dream of his to knock something down with heavy equipment. Enter MKS…
We are currently working on the Albion College campus, constructing the new expansion to their Serra-Dow Wellness Center. After hearing of President Ditzler’s construction-focused interest, we worked alongside Albion’s VP for Facilities Management and Development, Doug Laditka, to ensure that the President’s bucket list item was scratched off before his retirement this coming June.
Outside the Serra-Dow Wellness Center, stands a concrete wall that was erected in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. The plan has always been to demo this wall to make way for a more visually appealing facade for the new expansion. We saw this as the perfect opportunity to get President Ditzler involved! On March 2nd, 2020, he hopped inside one of our excavator’s and took down that wall!
It’s always a top priority to accommodate our partners and go above and beyond to make sure their expectations are exceeded. However, having the opportunity to be involved in something so personal as crossing off a bucket list item, was humbling to say the least! We LOVE our partners!
