The Indiana Tech Abbott Center first opened in 2001, acting as a traditional campus landmark with its theatrical clock tower. The building was dedicated to alum, Steve Abbott, a former board member and Indiana Tech Alumni Hall of Fame member due to his generous donation, making the building possible. Prior to its addition and renovation, the Abbott Center was the hub for several offices such as the president's office, marketing, admissions, financial aid, and much more. In 2018, MKS began construction on the Abbott Center to upgrade the entire existing facility, and to build a new Warrior Welcome Center. The Welcome Center was added to give prospective students and other visitors a space to learn more about the university, as well as host tour groups, meetings, and other campus activities. Construction lasted about 8 months, opening just in time for Indiana Tech’s homecoming, where a grand opening and dedication was held to celebrate with students, staff, alumni, and community members.
