Upland, IN (May 24, 2023) – Taylor University is buzzing with anticipation as major construction projects will enhance campus facilities and elevate the overall college experience for students. The MKS projects are scheduled throughout the summer, including constructing the cutting-edge Horne Academic Center, renovating the Stillman Fieldhouse, and updating the Hodson Dining Commons.

1. Horne Academic Center

The first construction project is a brand-new academic center dedicated to media and film studies. This facility aims to provide students with a dynamic and technologically advanced learning environment. The estimated 45,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in August 2024, with space for entrepreneurship offerings as well as Film and Media.

2. Stillman Fieldhouse

As part of the college's commitment to supporting its athletic programs, the Stillman Fieldhouse is being renovated to meet the needs of the football and lacrosse teams. The fieldhouse will feature new locker rooms, a dedicated lounge area for the football team, team meeting rooms, and expansive practice spaces for baseball and softball teams.

3. Hodson Dining Commons

Responding to the evolving needs of the campus community, Taylor University is embarking on a comprehensive renovation of Hodson Dining Commons. The project aims to create a modern and inviting space, accommodating a wider range of dietary preferences and accessibility requirements. The renovated dining hall features a new kitchen, improved serving locations, and updated seating arrangements. Additionally, including an elevator and new restrooms will ensure accessibility for all students, faculty, and staff. An outdoor patio will also be added, allowing students to enjoy their meals in a scenic and refreshing environment.
